Region 1 started advertising our summer temporary positions on www.usajobs.gov on February 16th.  The advertisements will close on February 22nd at midnight EST.  These positions will include work in: administration, range management, timber, botany, wildlife, fisheries, archeology, engineering, weeds, recreation, and more.

Want a sneak peak at the summer jobs that will be advertised starting February 1st?  Here’s how… use our outreach database found at: http://tinyurl.com/fsoutreach. You can use the search parameters, but use as few search criteria as possible. Using a broad search parameter such as state is a good method. Also, narrow the search by clicking on temporary jobs (these are our summer positions). Positions will come up after you click on search. Click on the positions to learn more such as: location, hiring manager’s contact info (yes, call these folks!!), if housing is available, and more.

Our summer temporary jobs for all fire and trails positions are NOW being advertised through midnight on January 10th.  These are for positions in Region 1 of the Forest Service only.  This includes North Idaho, Montana, and parts of the Dakotas.  The only way to apply for these positions is through www.usajobs.gov  To looks at these jobs, I recommend you use the search tool to search for “Forest Service” as the agency and state.
